The Descent

We've begun our decent south, heading towards LA. This means a few things for us. It means we are on the last leg of this trip - that the long-awaited drive west is actually coming to a close. It also means that we are that much closer to moving. out. of. the. country. We've still got a few more days, so I'll decide not to think about that right now...

We scaled the Olympic Peninsula and the Oregon coastline over the past few days. It's daunting how much there is to see - a fact, I think, that unites travelers. We were at one of the many, many viewpoints when we passed a guy who smiled and said wearily, 'So many places to stop...' we understood him perfectly in that moment. So many gorgeous views become exhausting after a while. (Woe is me...)

My first glimpse of the actual Pacific Ocean.

Jarvis enjoying the sand and sunset.

Cape Perpetua - one of my favorite stops

Cape Perpetua - wait for it...
...We thought this was going to be
way more impressive looking.

I know without a shadow of a doubt you envisioned that big wave splash picture to turn out like this:http://www.loveromancepassion.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/04/littlemermaid.jpg
