We just celebrated our 2nd wedding anniversary! We threw caution to the wind and gave into our American cravings with ribs for Jimmy and Mexican for me at a Hillary's, a popular boat harbor with lots of shops and little eateries. The ribs were prepared by Austrian guy who got to chatting with us because he lived in the southeast US for several years and complains that the people in Perth just don't know what good ribs are (His little restaurant is called 'American Ribs and Grill' - bless him!). We also indulged in some DIVINE Spanish mochas from one of my favorites, San Churros. It's a chocolateria - go figure. It was such a simple and fun night.

Jimmy had been craving these chips for about, oh, I'd say 3-5 years. Apparently they're only common in the U.K. This tiny bag was crazy expensive but worth it to have Jimmy's nostalgia satisfied.
But the celebration just kept on going as we went down south for the weekend with our favorite travel buddies, Jean-Paul and Pauline. They visited us in the states a few years back and it was so good to be able to get out of town with them again!
Here's a map of where we went for perspective's sake:
A LOT of driving over 4 days.
We stopped off at a winery on the way down for a little tasting and a whole lot of cheese. We relaxed out on the patio as the most refreshing rain shower came through. It was lovely!

Just a little place we stopped at for a look. I promise it was still raining when this was taken.
This was a stunning estuary that had us mesmerized for quite some time. The color of the water was so unique.

A dog!
This was one of my very favorite stops of the entire trip. I've never seen water like this before. The colors were so vivid! I really regret being cliche but the pictures just don't do it justice.

Trying ever-so-hard to capture the color of the water!

Jimmy has trouble finding places to relax. :)

Just a little sunset. No big.
Southern Western Australia has dense forests, which are wonderfully lush compared to the bush land that surrounds Perth. Some areas have gum trees that rival the redwoods in stature.

This was the Tree Top Walk in the Valley of the Giants. We are standing on the middle of the walk to offer some perspective!

Everyone loves a picture inside a giant tree.

Just taking it all in.

This was a whale lookout as it oversees a popular migration path. We actually saw quite a few whales throughout the trip which was such a surprise for me!

I know.
It was such a special trip that I think really blessed us all and left us simply in awe of our Creator.

Your anniversary pic turned out great and is currently the cutest thing of my life. But I hate whales and wish you'd stay further away from them. You're dancing a dangerous tango my friend...
