Well Hello.
I've actually been working on an update for a while now, but I kept taking so long with it that the details would change and I'd have to go and rewrite it and...ah, well. As they say around here, 'No worries, mate.'
To celebrate our arrival anniversary we hopped down to Mandurah for the day. Actually, the day trip was more of a coincidental celebration as we just tagged along with our friends Mark and Kim, who were going down there anyway for Mark's work. Jimmy has been working with Mark for the past few weeks which has been such a blessing. He owns a business renovating pools which makes for pretty physical work - Jimmy comes home absolutely 'knackered' everyday. As for me, I'm looking into doing some temporary work at the moment which would allow both of us to be pretty flexible in our work schedules. We've come to the conclusion that, for right now, flexibility in our work is what we need/want most.
Here are a few pictures from Manduarh:

There are those 'real' trees again.

It's common to see dolphins in the estuary around this area. We weren't so lucky on our outing but I'm hoping we will go back again once it gets a bit warmer for a look.

Makes you really consider how badly you want a Baby Ruth. Or approximately 10 Hershey Kisses. Or 2 Reese cups.
In other news...
I've seen quite a few more kangaroos. They venture out most at dusk, which makes snapping pictures of them pretty tricky. Jimmy's best mate Pascal and his wife (along with their little boy) took us out to a national park near their house, in hopes of spotting a few kangaroos. We saw at least 10, but not before getting utterly DRENCHED by a sudden downpour. Words cannot describe how wet we got. Since kangaroos were old news to everyone in that party except me, I couldn't help but feel a little at fault.
I recently discovered TimTams. LIFE.CHANGING. Soon after experiencing them for the first time, we walked into a grocery store and BAM - there TimTams were, at half price. The Lord is good. :)
Mint Chocolate TimTams > Girl Scout Thin Mints. Sorry America.
TimTams make for just a terrible segue into how things are really going...
There is definitely an unrest that comes with moving to a new place. We are incredibly blessed to already know people here, but we still have that feeling of homesickness often. Now, more than ever, our future plans are completely up in the air. We really don't know if we'll end up staying in Perth long-term, even for a whole year, or if we'll move back to the States or somewhere in the EU (basically I just took this opportunity to brag about the fact that Jimmy's many citizenships allow us to live and work in any of those places.) :) We are very literally taking life one day at a time right now. I don't think I've ever truly done that before. And though that's proving frustrating at times, I think it is one of the many lessons the Lord is teaching us through this season.
"Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble." - Matthew 6:34
"...Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." - Philippians 4:6-7

If God is for us, who can be against us?
(Romans 8:31)
I imagine that your journey is absolutely terrifying. It reminds me of when Nathan and I packed up and moved to Missouri. The unknown is always the scariest aspect of situations like yours. But don't let yourself get to the point of allowing this anxiety get in the way of why He's sent you there! I wish I'd realized these things better in Missouri : Our God is so big and powerful that it's impossible to totally comprehend quite how awesome He is. My pastor has recently started a series on prayer and faith. And how miracles happen through faith. The basic idea is : if you have complete and total faith that God can and will answer your deepest desires (or calm your deepest fears), then your prayers will be answered. Pray as if your prayers have already been answered, because you know, without a doubt, that they will be. Take Joshua, for example. By pure faith, the walls of Jericho fell down before his people. The actual "battle of Jericho" was a battle of faith. Completely embrace your deepest desires and talk to God like He's capable of the greatest of miracles (because He is), and you'll start to see amazing things happen around you.
Throw your worries in His hands and KNOW, through pure faith, that you have nothing to be anxious about. He'll reward you for it.
While you're living "one day at a time", live it like it's your last. Live it UP and make Him smile in anyway you possibly can.
We pray for you every single day. The kids have even added "and take care of Kake and Jimmy" to their dinner prayer. So, know that you also have "child-like faith" on your side : ) You guys can't lose here.
You're the coolest girl I know! I love you!

Thank goodness you said this before I had too :)
Praying for you guys. Love and miss you so much! Maybe consider this time in your life as God echoing some great advice you once gave me Katie, "Keep watching."
We have a friend who spent some time in Australia doing mission work. She came back and introduced us to TimTams. The best thing she showed us was biting off opposite corners of one of the regular chocolate ones. Then, stick one corner in hot chocolate (not so hot that it burns you) and then use the other corner to make the TimTam into somewhat of a "straw" and suck the hot chocolate up into the cookie. It sounds really stupid now that I'm typing it out, but it's really good. And when we found TimTams in World Market several years ago, we were thankful :)
